I’m planning a project that I will be doing in 2025 that will include throwing some clay. I’m so lucky that there are really amazing studios that I can go to that will fire clay for me, however, my creation process is going to require a faster turn around. I want to be able to use a pottery wheel and I’ve done some research on using alternative clays that don’t require firing. I purchased a mini pottery wheel as well as some air-dry clay to try to create some pottery. I’m a little nervous to make something that I could love and it not working out so wish me luck as I test out my new products: AMACO Stonex Self-Hardening Clay and Insnug Pottery Wheel.

Have you thrown pottery that you didn’t fire in a kiln? Share what worked for you in the comments!
